Mark Husbands, serves as the President of Denver Seminary

As the eighth President of Denver Seminary, one of North America's leading inter-denominational evangelical seminaries, Dr. Mark Husbands brings a unique combination of theological depth, operational excellence, and global perspective to theological education. His leadership philosophy centers on equipping graduates for lives of faithful impact, recognizing that the deepest challenges of our world require both intellectual rigor and spiritual depth.

Dr. Husbands's proven ability to align mission with sustainable growth positions him to advance Denver Seminary's distinctive calling to form "ambassadors of reconciliation" through extraordinarily learner-focused theological education. His experience leading Trinity Western University—where he eliminated all debt while growing enrollment 48.5% to over 7,000 students from 90 countries—demonstrates his capacity to steward institutional resources while maintaining academic excellence and spiritual formation.

What distinguishes Dr. Husbands's approach is his integration of financial stewardship with missional vision. At Trinity Western, he raised $55 million through philanthropy, added $18 million to the endowment, and opened a $35 million academic building debt-free—all while developing “TWU 2030: Every Graduate Equipped” a strategic plan that exemplifies his commitment to student-centered theological education. His leadership generated 75.3% EBITDA growth, creating margins that enabled extraordinary faculty work rather than compromising academic mission for financial stability.

His scholarly formation under the late John Webster, one of the 20th century's most significant Christian theologians, grounds his institutional leadership in theological depth. This relationship shaped his understanding of how rigorous scholarship serves the church's mission—a perspective essential for leading an inter-denominational seminary committed to both biblical fidelity and charitable orthodoxy across theological traditions.

Dr. Husbands's global consciousness, evident in Trinity Western's international partnerships spanning four continents, prepares him to guide Denver Seminary's engagement with world Christianity at a time when 69% of Christians live in the Global South. His experience with diverse denominational contexts and his scholarly work in World Christianity position him to strengthen Denver Seminary's inter-denominational character while maintaining theological integrity.

Prior to his presidency, Dr. Husbands served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at both Trinity Western University and Northwestern College, where he launched Iowa's first faith-based Physician Assistant program, demonstrating his ability to innovate within regulatory frameworks—a skill essential for contemporary seminary leadership.

Dr. Husbands holds a Ph.D. in Christian Theology from the University of Toronto, an M.Th. from Wycliffe College, and has authored numerous scholarly works. An abiding commitment to the Centrality of Christ, the truth and efficacy of God’s Word, academic excellence, moral theology, and World Christianity has been central to Dr. Husbands’s leadership and work as a theologian.
